La Iglesia

On Saturday a group of us went to church in Worcester, MA with professor Rivera. What a new experience for me going to a Spanish church. I didn't know that the church spoke Spanish throughout the whole service until I got there. Trying to find the little Spanish I knew felt like someone threw money all over the place and I had to catch as much as possible.
Sabbath School was interesting though because I had a student traslate for me but I didn't know how to reply to the sabbath school teacher that kept asking us questions and comments. I understood the whole service because another student translated for me. I was glad that there was a group of music major students that came along and gave special musics. Because I thought that it was only going to be me, Heidi, and Paul. I was shocked that we had to give a testimonial up on stage..in Spanish. The students that spoke fluent Spanish was so lucky. Me on the other hand had to speak Spanglish. Oh and Lynise showed up in the middle of the service, that was a good surprise too.
Potluck was yummy but I notice that the potluck was made especially for us because the congregation was out the door after the church was over. Overall it was a fun experience. The students that didn't join us that Sabbath missed out on some fun stuff.

I am sorry that you had to be put on the spot. I hate when that happens and you do not know what to say.
